Scholarship Established to honor De La Salle Retiree, Sister Rosemarie Morowczynski

De La Salle's business and theology teacher, Sister Rosie Morowczynski, SSJ-TOSF, has been with De La Salle since the opening of the Lourdes Hall Campus for Young Women at the outset of the 2002-03 school year. She retired in May 2017, at the end of the 2016-17 school year.

To honor her dedication, commitment and loyalty to the school, De La Salle has established an annual scholarship thanking her for her years of dedication to the students, and especially for all the lives she has impacted over the years.

As stated in its Mission Statement, "De La Salle Institute is an independent Catholic secondary school rooted in the tradition of Christian education begun by St. John Baptist de La Salle. Founded in 1889, its mission has been, and is, to foster a desire for excellence in education. Young people from a variety of ethnic and economic backgrounds are given the opportunity to fully develop their abilities so they may be active, contributing members of our complex, changing society."

In 2002, the former Lourdes High School in Chicago became a part of De La Salle Institute, as the Lourdes Hall Campus for Young Women.

Congratulations, Sister Rosie!
