The mission of Benjamin's House is to work together as a nonprofit agency with community organizations and individuals to provide housing opportunities for the homeless population in Barron County.
+ Click to expand | CASA (Court-Appointed Special Advocate)
CASA of Brown County is a nonprofit organization which dedicates itself to providing volunteer advocates to children who are the subject of a protective court order as a result of abuse or neglect. CASA volunteers are appointed by a judge to be an extra pair of eyes and ears to help ensure a child's safety and well being. They examine whether necessary services are being provided to the child and family and whether the court order is being followed to assure a permanent home for the child.

A ministry working with inmates transferred from Marysville Prison. Many of the people at this Center are awaiting appeals and hearings for 8, 10 years or more.

Joseph's Home, a ministry of the Sisters of Charity Health System, provides a nurturing, caring environment for men in transition with acute medical needs, helping them heal and achieve independence.

Long-term goals for residents at Joseph's Home include:

  • Attainment of a GED (if applicable),
  • Job Skill Development,
  • Increased Income,
  • Permanent Housing
+ Click to expand | Stephen Befrienders/Care Ministry
Coordination, training, recruiting and supporting volunteers for "listening" ministry through a local parish/diocese. A volunteer is assigned a person to visit on a regular basis. The person being visited is usually going through a crisis in life--death of a spouse, illness, those who cannot attend mass, communion is brought to them.

Serves the women inmates in County Jail in the Cleveland area, as well as those who have served their terms. This service is connected with Lutheran Metropolitan Ministries, which has multiple services for men and women in transition. This ministry is comprised of social workers and employment mentors to help people transition back into the world.

Collecting funds for direct assistance of specific projects but also helping prepare for a mission group trip to Haiti.

A coalition of Catholic, religious congregations, commits to act as a critical alternative voice to oppressive systems and to work actively to change those systems. The Sisters of St. Joseph of the Third Order of St. Francis have had a staff person at the 8th Day Center since 1979.
