Sr. Barbara Anne Gluck
I was a middle-aged woman wanting to give the rest of my life totally to God after raising a family. My desire for this life was very strong and my daily payer was one of perseverance in discernment. "Not my will, but God's will be done in me." When I contacted the SSJ-TOSF I found listening ears, respect and understanding regarding my desire to make a life commitment.
I began my spiritual journey with the SSJ-TOSF in 1997.This has been my greatest joy. The greatest challenge was finding a job and adapting to the schedules of the religious life process.
Today's society needs God, and needs to listen to one another and put prayer back into daily life.
Sr. Edith Gorski
I felt God was calling me to be a sister. I felt close to the SSJ-TOSF at the grade school I attended—all nine grades. The sisters were exceptional women. I felt very close to them and they took great interest in each of their students.
I came to teach and do whatever God wanted me to do as a woman religious. My greatest joy as a sister was that I developed the God-given talents within me. They let me be me!
Women should consider religious life if they are loving, giving, happy people who are aware that they live as a community, not singly, and that religious women have much to offer people and the world.
