Three women expressed their desire to continue their journey as associates with the SSJ-TOSF during a Sept. 16 ceremony.
Ruth Schuttenberg of Hatley, Wisconsin, pronounced her lifetime commitment as an associate. Carol Dean of Port Edwards and Donna Roser of Stevens Point each announced their recommitments.
Both sisters and associates all joined in this common prayer: "We wish to renew our desire to move forward in faith by pledging our commitment to work together as associates and sisters for a peace-filled world."
"We come here together in our commitment as Franciscan women to renew our pledge to work together to improve the world that surrounds us here in this chapel," Sr. Marcia Lambert said. "We desire to share with each other both joys and difficulties as followers of St. Clare, St. Francis, and Mothers Felicia and Clare. We choose to follow the example of Jesus in all that we do each day."
Sr. Marcia and Lois Lawler are the area contacts for the associate relationship in Wisconsin. The Associate Commitment Ceremony was held at the St. Joseph Motherhouse Chapel in Stevens Point, followed by a reception.
The SSJ-TOSF currently have 93 associates in the U.S. and Peru.
