Arlid Berrera Becomes a Candidate
Arlid Berrera was blessed as a candidate of the Sisters of St. Joseph of the Third Order of St. Francis on January 25, 2007. The blessing took place at St. Joseph Congregational Home in Stevens Point, Wisconsin. Sister Mary Alice Jarosz, Central Board member, presented Arlid with a Bible — a symbol of a Franciscan commitment to a Gospel way of living — and with the community office book — a symbol of Arlid’s closer connection to the spirit and life of the congregation.

The sisters extended their hands in blessing of the new candidate, and Arlid, using the Beatitudes as her guide, spoke of what the sisters meant to her during her journey over the last two years. Arlid will continue to live with Sisters Rita Schmidt and Gerri Smurawa at Villa St. Clare, the SSJ-TOSF House of Discernment in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
