SSJ-TOSF Social Justice Tithes Help Support 28 Groups

One percent of the income of the Sisters of St. Joseph of the Third Order of St. Francis is designated annually to be used to support those groups that work for social justice. The money is reserved in the Social Justice Contributions Fund. Three times a year, a board made up of SSJ-TOSFs and friends reviews the requests received and makes a decision based on monies available and how the request fits the criteria. Donations are made to a specific group one time during the fiscal year, which runs from October 1 to September 30.
