The Sisters of St. Joseph of the Third Order of St. Francis encourage others to join us in our mission of promoting the material and spiritual development of all God's people.

These weekends offer opportunities to meet others who are reflecting on life choices and learn more about the Sisters of St. Joseph of the Third Order of St. Francis. Will religious life limit my ability to make choices about my future?

A call to religious life is a call to true freedom. Giving of yourself in a religious community offers endless possibilities of ministry and service.

Will I lose my identity?

Being part of a religious community provides a supportive environment in which to explore and utilize your individual gifts. You are encouraged to be your best self in community with others.

How do I know I'm being called to religious life?

You may find that you have many questions regarding your vocation: With whom will you share your life? In what career will you express your gifts? Each call is unique and personal and requires discernment through prayer, reflection and dialogue.

Who are the Sisters of St. Joseph of the Third Order of St. Francis?

We are a community of over 400 Franciscan women, under the patronage of St. Joseph, founded in 1901 in Stevens Point, Wisconsin. Our missioned presence is felt throughout 104 cities in 14 states and 4 countries off the mainland.

As a Sister, in what kind of ministry will I be involved?

Our Sisters minister wherever they are called by unmet human needs such as: health services, education, social work, respite care, accounting, law, spiritual direction, counseling, pastoral care, shelters for the homeless, sick and abused.
